HOW DOES IT WORK
Young, healthy-looking skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). But as you age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. The lack of HA causes your skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds – like those parentheses lines around your nose and mouth.
Using a dermal filler such as Juvederm/ Restylane/Teosyal is a safe and effective way to replace the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in all mammals that helps to hydrate and add volume to your skin. In addition to its use as an aesthetic treatment, hyaluronic acid has also been used for more than 30 years for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement as well as for eye surgeries and wound repair.
Does it hurt?
The pain is minimal as these days most fillers contain “lidocaine” an anesthetic within the filler itself. Before we start the treatment we would also offer an anesthetic cream to numb the area which will be treated. This makes the injection more comfortable for the client. Some redness and swelling can be expected after the treatment but most clients can return to work directly after the treatment.
How long does it take?
This depends on the area being treated. The whole procedure usually takes around 20 mins to 1 hour.
How many treatments will I need and how soon will I see results?
Normally only one treatment is necessary to get the results you want. The amount of filler we inject depends on the expectations discussed at consultation session.
How long do the results last?
The results of dermal fillers normally last from 6 months to 12 months depending on the type of filler being used and the individual person.
